We offer group and school programs year round. Please see our program descriptions to see the types of programs we offer. We can also create custom programs to meet your groups needs!

The Forsyth Nature Center and the City of Kingston Parks and Recreation Department are sponsoring numerous Kayaking programs this summer. These programs are great for beginners and experts alike. They are designed for those looking to see wildlife, learn the cultural and natural history of our Kingston Shorelines and have a fun and relaxing time!

Kayaking trip summer 2005

Kayaking Programs begin 5/22/09–9/5/09
All programs include: Guided Tour, Kayak, Life Vest and Paddle. These tours are cosponsored by Kenco Outfitters. Call ahead early for reservations!

Good Morning Paddle  Every Saturday Morning  9:00am  Kingston Point Beach
Spend your morning paddling the Hudson River. Wildlife abounds during these paddles. Eagles, osprey and turtles keep the group fascinated! $25 for Kingston residents, $35 for non-residents.

Hudson River Sunset Paddle  Every Saturday Evening  6:00pm  Kingston Point Beach
View sunsets and wildlife on this tour. This program is great for those looking to get their feet wet and enjoy the river at its best! $25 for Kingston residents, $35 for non-residents.

Up the Creek  Every Friday Evening  6:00pm   Maritime Museum
Join us for a sunset paddle on the Rondout Creek! This program will launch from the Hudson River Maritime Museum. The museum is located in the heart of downtown Kingston, along the Rondout. This trip will explore the wildlife and explore its history! $25 for Kingston residents, $35 for non-residents.

Special 2009 Programs:

Moonlight Paddle Trips July 16 and August 14 8:00pm Kingston Point Park (Rotary Park)
Paddling with beavers, bats and other nocturnal animals is a must do for nature lovers! This program explores Kingston Point Marsh, a protected wetland area. $30 for Kingston residents, $40 for non-residents.

Esopus Creek Kayak Tour May 6 and October 3 10:00am Meet at the FNC
Paddle the Urban Jungle that is Kingston's Esopus Creek. This intimate experience opens up a new appreciation of nature in the city. $30 for Kingston residents, $40 for non-residents.

Private Kayaking Program
By Appointment
This unique experience can be booked by individuals or groups who are looking for a personal guided kayak tour. These tours are offered by Kenco Outfitters and Kingston Parks and Recreation Department.
Participants can choose from Hudson River or Rondout Creek experiences. Each program is 2-1/2 hours. $75 per person and includes all equipment.

- Reservations are necessary if renting a kayak
- Best times for wildlife sightings – 10am or 6pm
